Acrylic Nail Technician Course
Acrylic nails have been a staple of professional nail salons for decades and remain one of the most in-demand nail extension services in the UK. Clients love them for their durability, strength, and the length and shape they can achieve.
Our online acrylic nail technician course covers everything you need to know to apply, maintain and remove acrylic extensions professionally — from correct monomer-to-powder ratios and shaping techniques to infills and natural nail preparation.
Who it suits: Anyone who wants to offer a classic, reliable extension service with a broad client base. Acrylic is particularly popular with clients who want strong, long-lasting nails and are less concerned with a natural finish.
What you'll learn: Natural nail preparation, bead consistency, extension application (tip and forms), filing and shaping, infill technique, removal, and aftercare advice for clients.
Earning potential: A full set of acrylic extensions typically commands £35–£70 depending on your location and experience. Infill appointments every two to three weeks create consistent repeat income.

Gel Nail Technician Course
Gel nail extensions offer a more flexible, lightweight alternative to acrylics — and in recent years have overtaken traditional extensions in popularity, particularly among clients who prefer a more natural look and feel.
Our gel nail technician course teaches you to apply hard gel extensions using both nail tips and forms, including the preparation, application, shaping, and finishing skills needed to produce a professional result from your very first clients.
Who it suits: Technicians drawn to a softer, more natural-looking finish. Gel extensions are also a great choice if you're targeting clients with more delicate or damaged natural nails, as gel is gentler during both application and removal.
What you'll learn: Natural nail prep, tip application, gel extension using forms, filing and buffing, LED/UV curing, top coat application, removal, and client consultation.
Earning potential: Gel extensions are priced similarly to acrylics — typically £40–£80 for a full set — but carry a premium positioning that allows experienced technicians to charge towards the higher end.

Gel Polish Course
Gel polish is the bedrock of almost every nail menu. Long-lasting, chip-resistant, and available in hundreds of shades and finishes, it's the treatment clients book most regularly — and the one that builds your repeat client base faster than any other service.
Our gel polish course takes you from natural nail preparation through to a full professional gel polish application, including cuticle work, base and top coat, colour application, curing, and removal — everything you need to offer this service safely and to a professional standard.
Who it suits: Anyone building a nail menu from scratch. Gel polish is an essential foundation skill and the logical starting point for most new nail technicians.
What you'll learn: Natural nail prep, cuticle care, base coat application, colour layering, curing technique, top coat, removal methods, and client aftercare advice.
Earning potential: Gel polish appointments typically run 45–60 minutes and charge £25–£50, with clients returning every two to three weeks — making it one of the most consistent income streams in a nail business.

BIAB (Builder in a Bottle) Course
BIAB has transformed the nail industry over the last few years and shows no sign of slowing down. Builder in a Bottle is a soak-off gel formula that adds strength and structure directly to the natural nail — sitting between a gel polish and a hard gel extension in terms of thickness and durability.
Clients love BIAB because it protects and grows their natural nails while looking polished and professional. For technicians, it commands a higher price point than standard gel polish and positions you at the premium end of the market.
Who it suits: Technicians who already hold or are studying a gel polish qualification, or those who want to offer a higher-value service that clients actively search for by name.
What you'll learn: Product consistency, application technique, correct curing, infill appointments, removal, and how to consult clients on whether BIAB is right for their nail type.
Earning potential: BIAB appointments typically charge £40–£70 and require infills every three to four weeks — creating excellent repeat income with a higher spend per visit than standard gel polish.

E-File Training Course
The electric file has become an essential tool in modern nail work — used for preparation, shaping, product removal, and refining the finished nail. However, incorrect technique can cause serious damage to the natural nail plate, which is why dedicated e-file certification is now widely required by UK insurance providers before they will cover treatments where an electric file is used.
Our e-file training course teaches you to use an electric nail drill safely and confidently — covering bit selection, speed and pressure control, dry versus wet filing, and when not to use a machine file at all.
Who it suits: Any nail technician who wants to use an e-file professionally — whether you're a beginner building your toolkit or an experienced technician who needs to formalise your certification.
What you'll learn: Anatomy of the e-file and handpiece, bit types and their uses, correct speed and pressure for different applications, cuticle work, gel and acrylic removal, and nail plate safety.

Acrylic Dip Powder Course
Dip powder nails have grown rapidly in popularity and are now a firm client favourite — particularly among those who want the strength and longevity of acrylics without the strong chemical smell associated with traditional liquid-and-powder application.
The dip powder technique uses a pigmented powder and a bonding liquid to build colour and strength in layers directly on the natural nail or tip, resulting in a lightweight, durable finish that can last up to four weeks without chipping.
Who it suits: Technicians who want to offer a modern alternative to traditional acrylics, or those looking to expand their menu with a technique that appeals to health-conscious clients and those with sensitivity to acrylic fumes.
What you'll learn: Natural nail preparation, tip application, dip powder layering technique, shaping and buffing, top coat application, removal, and client aftercare.
Earning potential: Dip powder sets typically command £35–£65 and are quick to apply once technique is mastered, making them an efficient and profitable addition to any nail menu.

Acrylic & Gel Nail Sculpting Course
While tip-and-overlay is the most common extension method, sculpting is the mark of a truly skilled nail technician. Rather than applying a plastic tip before the acrylic or gel, sculpting involves building the entire extension — including the free edge — directly from the acrylic or gel product using a nail form. The result is a lighter, stronger, more precise extension with no seam at the tip.
Sculpting is a more advanced technique that commands premium pricing and sets you apart in a competitive market. Clients who know their nails will actively seek out technicians who sculpt, and many nail competitions and editorial looks require sculpted extensions.
Who it suits: Technicians who already hold a basic acrylic qualification and want to elevate their skill level, or those starting out who want to build towards a high-end service offering from the beginning.
What you'll learn: Form fitting and positioning, bead placement for sculpted extensions, C-curve development, apex placement, filing and shaping the sculpted nail, surface finish, and removal.
Earning potential: Sculpted sets command a premium — typically £55–£90 or more — reflecting the skill and time involved. Dual-qualified technicians offering both tips and sculpting can charge accordingly for each.

Online vs Face-to-Face Nail Training — Which is Right for You?
All of our nail courses are available online, and our intensive nail technician course is available as a face-to-face option.
Online nail courses let you study entirely at your own pace, in your own home, without any fixed schedule. You access video tutorials and training manuals through our student portal, complete your theory assessments, and then carry out your practical case studies on friends or family before submitting for marking. Most students qualify within a few weeks, though you have up to one year to complete.
Face-to-face training is ideal if you prefer hands-on learning with an instructor present, want to complete your practical work in a supervised environment, or simply want to qualify as quickly as possible in an intensive format. Our face to face training is held in Northern Ireland, email us for more information at contact@esbeautyschool.com
Both routes lead to the same fully accredited, insurable certificate — the choice comes down to how you learn best.
